The New normal

An album cover for a music project from the independent music artist, VR. The New Normal is a hip-hop album self-released by VR on December 31, 2025. The album covers & other visual material were finalized 2 years prior. The client had personally requested 2 original artworks back in the summer of 2023. We experimented with various layouts & colour pairings until we arrived at the final version. The client had previously seen my other visual artworks and had requested that it be done similarly. The overall direction was for me to go “crazy” with it. The style is very collage-like & is meant to evoke chaos & an otherworldly feeling. Using markers for the characters & photography for the background, I drew a bunch of subjects & would pass each of them by for approval, before applying them onto the layout of the cover.
